1/7/2021 0 Comments 01/07/21 Final ASo for my art, I decided to draw a self-portrait with the US and the German flag on my face because I was born in the US and I'm mainly German. One studio habit that I used is Express. I used that studio habit by expressing my feelings and emotions into my artwork and it has meaning behind it. Another studio habit is stretch and explore, I used that by going out of my comfort zone to draw myself, just something I don't normally do.

My love for this place inspired me to make this artwork, I love hunting and fishing and I can do both here, along with camping with family/friends since there's enough room down there for a few campers. My goal for this artwork was to make it look realistic as possible and get to close detail as possible. Something I learned with this artwork is that you have to be patient and do the background first before the other details, otherwise it's a lot harder to try and do the background behind trees.12/18/2020 0 Comments Artist Statement- THe objectSo for this artwork, i drew two softballs leaning against one another. I used softballs because I love playing and watching the sport, and have ever since I was a little kid and able to play. One of the studio habits that I used in develop craft. I used it by learning how to properly use the colored pencils and how to blend well and also how to not get the colors to smear together. Another studio habit that I used is observe. I payed very close attention to all of the details such as how the letters were printed, the dirt marks, the laces, etc.
12/18/2020 0 Comments 10/19/20-The Artist's Process Something important with painting is doing a thinking drawing before. Wayne Thiebaud's definition of a thinking drawing is sketching out your ideas before painting them. It helps you figure out how to make the drawings more interesting, like details, and the dynamic compositions. He uses them to figure out his best ideas and details for his painting, and can just simply erase something if he doesn't like it or needs to change it. In his final paintings, he uses the thoughts and ideas that he had from the sketches and uses them in there to help make it his best. In his artwork, "Row of Ties", there's one tie that is separated from the others, it's white with different colored squiggly lines. I think that it's separated from the rest because you can see more of the base color and also it doesn't have straight lines or polka dots like the rest of them do.

I used stretch and explore by trying something different and learning how to try something different if one thing didn't work. I used observe by looking at pictures, and the actual place and doing what I could to make it as close to it as I could. Although it was a tough thing to do since I'm used to only doing an overview, not like you're taking a photo and seeing everything. My art is a combination of these two pictures

We were using many studio habits and two of them that I used was Develop craft and envision. I used develop craft by learning how to use the water colors properly to form an artwork. I also used envision by sketching a picture out in my head of what I wanted to do, and made it happen on the paper. It might not be the exact same or perfect but I'm no professional.
9/30/2020 0 Comments September 30th, 2020I have been working on studio habits and they are observation and envision. I have been observing by looking closely at all of the details of my object. I looked at my object(s) really closely and looked at the lines and how the letters on them are written. They weren't just plain written, but there was some different angles of like the p's, r's, e's, etc and it was really cool. The other technique is envision. I was able to think about what I was going to do next while I was doing something which was helpful. Like while I was working on one letter, I was thinking about the next letter, or the laces of one side or the other of which way they go.
